Police mounted a crackdown on crime and drug misuse in an operation in Chesterfield.

Officers stopped and searched vehicles and people in a bid to look for anyone carrying drugs.

Sergeant Mark Church, of Derbyshire Police, said: “We set up the operation as part of our response to community concerns around the misuse of drugs in Grangewood which is currently a priority for the Holmebrook and Rother Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.

“Officers are carrying out regular patrols and will continue to do so as part of our commitment to targeting drug misuse and helping our community both stay and feel safe.

“I would urge anyone who may have information about illegal drug use or suspicious activity to contact us.”
