FOOTBALL fans attending Chesterfield’s home game against Exeter tomorrow can get their 4x4s marked with a specialist property-marking liquid to help deter thieves.
Derbyshire Police will be offering marking kits to all 4x4 owners at the B2net stadium between 10am and 2pm.
Officers will be using SelectaDNA, a liquid where each batch has its own forensic code to help police identify stolen items.
Officers will be on hand to offer security advice to 4x4 owners, following a spate of thefts in the county.
PC Lee Oldham, who is taking part in the initiative, said: “The message to criminals is simple - don’t risk it.”
