Police probe shop robbery

A MAN was held up by two armed robbers who burst into his shop brandishing a knife and baseball bat.

The victim, who owns Neale Bank Stores, Neale Bank, Brimington, Chesterfield, was working at around 11am on Bank Holiday Monday when the offenders entered his shop and demanded money.

He refused to hand lover any cash and challenged the robbers – before the pair fled empty-handed.

Police said a bag containing a knife and bat was found dumped nearby and the items are now being examined by forensics experts.

A 20-year-old Brimington man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
