POLICE were called in to investigate when a man turned up at a Sheffield hospital with a gunshot wound.

The man, aged in his 20s, was found to have a gunshot wound to his shoulder when medics examined him.

Officers investigating cordoned off Buchanan Road, Parson Cross, on Sunday while enquiries were carried out.

Forensics experts looked for any evidence to suggest the shooting may have happened there.

Three Sheffield men, aged 21, 23 and 25, have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and wounding.

They have been quizzed and released on bail pending further enquiries.

A police spokeswoman said: “I can confirm that a man in his 20s attended hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.”

Anyone with information should call 101.
