A bag was also stolen from a car parked on Kearsley Road, Highfield.

Police were called in after a thief forced a car door open on Archer Road, Millhouses, to steal a sat nav.

Officers are also looking into the disappearance of paperwork from a car parked on Hunter House Road, Hunters Bar and the theft of parts from a car on Carter Knowle Road, Caterknowle.

Inspector Ian Stubbs, of the Woodseats and Gleadless Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I would always advise when any vehicle is left unattended, please ensure all the windows are closed and the doors are locked. All valuable items should be removed from the vehicle and not left clearly on display.”
