A police probe is underway into a series of arson attacks in Sheffield.

Firefighters were alerted to a blaze on Woodhead Road, Wortley, at 10.30pm on Tuesday and found a van burning.

That night a bin was set alight on Washington Road, Sharrow.

And at 4.45am on Wednesday a skip was found burning on High Street, Ecclesfield.

Crews believe all the fires were started deliberately.

They do not know how a fire involving a Volkswagen Polo found burning on Berners Close, Arbourthrne, at 9.20pm on Tuesday started.

Anyone with information on the culprits responsible for the fires or who saw any suspicious activity should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
