A MAN was rushed to hospital after a early morning attack in Sheffield city centre.

The 24-year-old was found injured yesterday, near Caffe Nova and Atkinsons, Charter Row, which was taped off and under police guard during the day as detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police said the victim was taken to hospital and a 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and held throughout the day for questioning.

Witnesses to the incident, which happened shortly before 4.30am, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident 115 of March 28.
