POLICE are still appealing for help in tracing a man who attempted to abduct a schoolgirl in Sheffield.
The man struck on Birley Spa Lane, Birley, last week, as the 14-year-old girl was walking near to The Golden Plover pub at 10.10pm on Saturday, May 12.
A car pulled up alongside her and a man told her to get into the car.
He then grabbed her by the arm and tried to drag her into the vehicle.
Police said the girl managed to struggle free and ran away, but the car continued to follow her.
The vehicle was an ‘old-style’ maroon saloon car and the driver was an Asian man, around 50 years old, 5ft 6ins tall, of a medium build and with black, bushy eyebrows and gelled black hair.
He was clean-shaven, and was wearing a black T-shirt with navy blue writing on it and dark jeans.
Witnesses or anyone who has any information about the incident or the driver is urged to call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
