PARENTS with children at a Sheffield school have been warned to be extra vigilant following a report of an attempted abduction.
Police issued the advice after an 11-year-old girl alleged that a man tried to abduct her on Heeley Bank Road, close to Carfield Primary School, at 3.40pm on Monday.
A 50-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the incident before being released without charge.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A thorough investigation was carried out to establish if any offence had been committed, the man was later released without charge.
“We want to reassure the public that the police take all reports of this type very seriously. We would ask members of the local community not to panic, but, as ever, to remain vigilant.”
