Police patrols are continuing in a suburb of Sheffield rocked by a shooting and vicious assault - in a bid to reassure residents of their safety.
Mr Bodell was found with gunshot wounds on wasteland off Queen Mary Road, Manor, in the early hours of Saturday, and a 47-year-old man was attacked on nearby Harborough Avenue, Manor Park, the following night.
Insp Ferguson said the shooting and the attack are not believed to be connected.
“Local police officers and PCSOs will continue to patrol the area to reassure residents that, while these two incidents are both extremely serious, they are rare and the risk to the wider populace remains low,” he said.
Also over the weekend, police cordoned off areas near The Embassy pub on Mansfield Road, Intake, after residents heard what they believe to have been gunfire.
Cordons were erected off Woodhouse Road and Mansfield Road, and a man aged 24 and a boy aged 17 were arrested.
Corrie Lewis Allen, aged 24, of Windy House Lane, Manor, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named but is also from Sheffield, has also been charged with the same offence.
Both appeared before Sheffield magistrates yesterday and were remanded in custody until July 8, when they are due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “At present there is no evidence linking the murder with the incident at Intake.”
Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
