MORE than 14,000 people have called Derbyshire Police’s new non-emergency contact number since it was launched last month.
The 101 number is being rolled out across the country and will eventually be used by all forces.
It is being introduced in a drive to make it easier for people to contact the police to report crime and disorder.
The number replaces the former 0345 123 3333 non-emergency number.
During the first week 1,788 people used the service.
