Police investigating an assault on a 16-year-old girl have issued this E-fit

A thug pulled a 16-year-old girl from the horse she was riding and punched her in the face during a violent robbery attempt.

Police have released an e-fit of the suspect.

The girl was riding a horse on the Trans-Pennine Trail behind Lang Avenue, Lundwood, Barnsley, when she was assaulted at around 6.20pm on Thursday, February 12.

She was confronted by a man who grabbed the horse’s reins and demanded her valuables.

She refused and the suspect grabbed her by the hand, pulled her from the horse and punched her in the face.

They struggled and the man fled empty handed.

He was wearing gloves, a dark navy beanie hat, shirt and jacket. He was around 21 years old, 5ft 8ins, with broad shoulders, blue eyes, short copper coloured hair and freckles.
