Police hunt teenager over burglary of OAP’s home

A pensioner had his wallet and cash stolen by a boy he believes called at his house earlier in the day for sponsorship.

The 83-year-old, from the Meadow Crescent area of Barnsley, opened his door to a teenage boy asking for sponsorship and he gave him some cash.

Police believe the boy returned later in the day and stole the pensioner’s wallet and money.

The suspect was white, aged 14 or 15, around 5ft 5ins tall, of a slight build with short, cropped, fair hair.

He was wearing a light blue or grey bomber style jacket.
