Police are appealing for help from the public in a bid to track down two men believed to be responsible for a jewellery heist in Doncaster.

Officers have released e-fit pictures of two men they are trying to trace following the raid in Askern.

Several items of expensive and sentimental jewellery were stolen after the raiders smashed a rear patio window at the property in Coniston Road in the village.

The raid took place in August last year, but South Yorkshire Police have only just released details of the incident and details of the men they would like to speak to.

No details have been released about the value of the jewels.

The burglary took place between 3pm on Saturday 10 August and 9am on Sunday 11 August 2013.

Officers now want to hear from anyone who recognises the two men shown in the e-fits, who were seen near the address at around 11.30pm on Saturday 10 August.

Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 379 of Sunday 11 August 2013, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
