POLICE are hunting three boys who hurled missiles off a Chesterfield bridge as a car passed underneath.
The culprits were spotted by the motorist whose car they hit with either stones or ball bearings as he drove along the A617 Hasland bypass.
He told police the boys were all wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident – 2.15pm last Wednesday.
Police officers hunting the boys said a similar incident happened at 4pm two days earlier.
Local schools have been visited by Derbyshire Police to warn youngsters of the dangers of hurling missiles at vehicles from a height.
PCSO Alan Nield, of the Hasland and St Leonard’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This type of behaviour is extremely dangerous and while it may seem like fun to those involved it could lead to a serious accident.
“If you have information about anyone taking part in this reckless behaviour please contact police.”
