MORE than 70 cannabis plants have been seized by police in a series of raids in Bolsover.

Officers discovered 22 cannabis plants and a hydroponics set-up in the loft of a house on Sookholme Road, Shirebrook, on Friday while they were dealing with an unrelated incident.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and was released on bail pending further enquiries.

Raids were carried out on homes on Devonshire Street, New Houghton, where officers found cannabis and Chapel Street, Langwith, where another 50 plants and specialist lighting equipment and fans were found.

Two men aged 48 and 46 and a 32-year-old woman were arrested and bailed.
