A POLICE sniffer dog was sent into pubs in and around Mosborough and Woodhouse looking for customers with drugs.
It was sent into five pubs and a small amount of drugs was found discarded in one.
Customers were searched outside but no arrests made.
Inspector Jason Booth, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “This sends out a clear message that we will be making random visits to licensed premises not only to ensure licence conditions are being met but also to ensure we are making pubs safer.
“Anyone caught acting in a drunken manner or in possession of controlled drugs can expect action to be taken”.
To report suspected drug crimes, call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
