DERBYSHIRE Police has 21 extra Special Constables on the beat across the county after new recruits were sworn in after a two-week training course.
The volunteers, who work for the police without pay, support regular full-time bobbies.
Assistant Chief Constable Dee Collins said: “Each of our new recruits has undertaken rigorous training and the ceremony was a celebration of their achievements thus far.
“Being a special constable enables each individual to make a genuine difference to the lives of people in their communities.”
The force is recruiting for more specials to sign up.
