CHECKS were carried out on 54 vehicles in the Longstone Edge and Stanage areas of the Peak District in a crackdown on illegal off-road bikers.
Police checked that all the vehicles they stopped had insurance, tax and MOTs and checked that they were safe.
A total of 47 were off-road motorbikes and officers spoke to them about Operation Blackbrook, whiich is a long running scheme to reduce illegal biking.
PC Kevin Lowe, of Tideswell Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The day-long operation was in response to information that had been received from the public.
“No illegal riding or driving was detected or reported to the police on any restricted byway, footpath or bridleway and I was pleased that so many people knew Operation Blackbrook and what it stood for.
“Advice was given to everyone about joining responsible off-road groups.”
