A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a body at a house in Barnsley.
On Tuesday, police officers found 51-year-old Gary Collins dead at his address on Sackville Street after concerns for his welfare were raised by his family.
The suspect, aged 27, was arrested in the early hours of this morning. He is currently being held in police custody.
A post-mortem examination on Mr Collins’ body proved inconclusive, and further tests are being carried out to establish the cause of the death.
“While formal identification has not yet been carried out, officers are satisfied the body is that of Mr Collins,” a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said.
