Police appeal to crash witnesses

WITNESSES to a motorway smash in South Yorkshire in which a car overturned and landed on its roof are being urged to come forward.

The crash happened on the northbound M1, near Junction 31 at Aston, and involved a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a blue Volkswagen LT panel van.

Police said the van driver, from Rotherham, was arrested after leaving the scene of the collision. He has since been released on bail.

The Corsa driver was unhurt.

Any witnesses to the crash, on Thursday, October 25, at 2.20pm, are asked to call police on 101.
