POLICE in a Sheffield suburb are appealing for residents to help them find out where youngsters are getting alcohol from.
Officers from the city’s North East Safer Neighbourhood Team issued the appeal after discovering a group of youngsters drinking alcohol on Longley Four Greens, Longley, on New Year’s Eve.
They seized a box of lagers and three bottles of wine.
Inspector Simon Leake said: “This is an area of reported anti-social behaviour and alcohol can only fuel this behaviour.
“If you are aware of any individuals providing young people under 18 years with alcohol, or premises that sell to under age individuals, please contact your local policing team.
“We regularly run test purchase operations and will be looking at licensed premises in the area in the near future.
“The parents of the young people found in possession will be visited and issued with Parental Advisory Letters, details of which may be shared with partners including housing providers.”
