Police are appealing for more information following the discovery of a man’s body on wasteland in Parson Cross.

The body of Paul Smith was found on Hartley Brook, off Holgate Crescent, last Thursday, June 13. The 47-year-old, known as ‘Biff’, had last been seen by his family the previous Sunday, June 9.

Police are continuing to investigate his death, which they are treating as unexplained.

Officers are appealing for information and want to hear from anyone who may have seen Paul, or anyone acting suspiciously in Parson Cross between June 9 and 13.

Det Supt Matt Fenwick said: “We have a team of officers dedicated to this investigation and we are working hard to establish the events that led to Paul’s death. The circumstances are unexplained at the moment. We are determined to find out what happened.”
