An ATTACK on the host of a house party landed an Eckington man behind bars.
Dane Wright, aged 22, punched Cameron Dineen in the head during the row and had to pulled off by fellow partygoers.
Chesterfield magistrates heard the victim, who suffered a cut lip, did not initially report the incident to police.
But he later saw Wright in the street and claimed he threatened to ‘rip his eyes out,’ prosecutor Jenny Fitzgerald told the court.
Wright, of Market Street, Eckington, admitted assault - and breaching a suspended sentence order imposed for failing to stop and report a road accident.
District Judge Andrew Davison locked him up for a total of 16 weeks, saying: “It was a largely unprovoked attack on a male in his own home where you were a guest.”
