OAP shopkeeper threatened with knife during raid in Sheffield

A pensioner was threatened with a knife during a robbery at a Sheffield shop he was working in.

The 71-year-old was helping out at his friend’s newsagents and convenience store on Meadow Head Avenue, Greenhill, when he was threatened by two men armed with a knife yesterday afternoon.

They demanded cash and cigarettes from the OAP.

DC Ben Taylor, who is investigating the raid, said: “Fortunately the victim was not injured however he is extremely distressed. I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or who has any information to please come forward.”
