Police were called to the Ex-Servicemen’s Club, Carter Lane, Shirebrook, North Derbyshire, after a disturbance involving a group of people broke out.

Officers found a 16-year-old with cuts to his face as a result of being hit over the head with a glass from behind.

He was taken to hospital and received a number of stitches for his injuries.

The victim told police he had not seen the culprit.

Detectives investigating the incident on New Year’s Eve want to speak to people in the club at the time of the attack.
