A TEENAGE boy collapsed while playing football in Buxton and later died.

The 16-year-old, from Buxton, complained of feeling unwell shortly before collapsing, police in Derbyshire have revealed. He died at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Car ends on roof

EMERGENCY services were called to a car which overturned and landed on its roof after running out of control on The Parkway, Sheffield at around 6pm on Sunday. Two occupants in the car were taken to hospital as a precaution.

Vehicle set alight

A CAR found engulfed in flames after being set on fire by arsonists was so badly damaged firefighters were unable to determine the make and model. The blaze on Maple Road, Mexborough, Rotherham, was reported at 11pm on Sunday.

Custody appeal

SOUTH Yorkshire Police Authority is recruiting new Independent Custody Visitors to check the welfare of people held in police cells. Successful applicants will receive training before being appointed.

Robbery charges

A MAN has been remanded in custody after being charged with two robberies in Sheffield city centre. The 19-year-old was arrested on Division Street in the early hours of April 18.

Arson on shed

A SHED found burning on an allotment on Doncaster Road, Goldthorpe, Rotherham, had been set alight deliberately. Firefighters were called to tackle the blaze at 11pm on Sunday.

Car destroyed

A FORD Fiesta was destroyed in an arson attack on St Aidan’s Rise, Norfolk Park, Sheffield, on Sunday night.
