A MAN was taken to hospital as a precaution after suffering smoke inhalation when his kitchen caught fire.

Firefighters were called out to the incident on Brimmesfield Road, Norfolk Park, Sheffield.

In Rotherham the kitchen of a house in Rotherham was badly damaged when a toaster caught fire.

Firefighters called out to the incident said the owner of the house on Harlington Road, Mexborough, was out at the time and discovered smoke alarms going off and smoke pouring from under the front door when he arrived home.

A GOLF GTI was set alight in an arson attack outside a block of flats on Pearl Street, Sharrow, Sheffield. Flames from the blaze spread to a Toyota Yaris and the guttering of the nearby flats. Firefighters dealt with the blaze.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to Colley Park, Remington Road, Parson Cross, after a bin and safety matting went up in flames.

The fire was started deliberately.

POLICE are investigating break-ins at two garages on Brocklehurst Avenue, Norton, Sheffield. A garage was also broken into on Mount View Road, Norton Lees.
