A SPECIAL team is to be created to tackle anti-social behaviour, according to Barnsley Town Council.
The dedicated unit for the town will be formed by special constables, the Barnsley estate action team, police community support officers and anti-social behaviour enforcement and tasking officers from Barnsley Council.
The organisations involved also want community volunteers to help out in ‘public reassurance roles’.
Neighbourhood resolution panels are also to be introduced to the town, in one of eight Ministry of Justice pilot projects being introduced across the country.
The panels bring together victims and perpetrators to resolve conflicts and agree resolutions.
