A MAN who died after being attacked in Worksop town centre has been named as Glen Kitchens.
The 40-year-old, from Sunnyside, was attacked on Bridge Street, near its junction with Central Avenue and Ryton Street, on Saturday night.
He was pronounced dead at Bassetlaw District Hospital.
The results of a post-mortem examination have not yet been released.
Four teenage boys – three aged 15, and one aged 16 – were arrested on suspicion of murder and were still in custody yesterday.
A police spokesman said: “Mr Kitchens’ relatives are being supported by specially-trained detectives at this difficult time.
“As part of the murder inquiry, detectives are scouring CCTV from the town centre and speaking to witnesses in a bid to establish what happened.”
Appealing for witnesses, the spokesman added: “If you were in the vicinity of Bridge Street at the time of the incident, saw the attack or anything suspicious, or remember seeing a group of teenage boys and girls in the area, call police.”
