A murder probe is under way following the discovery of a man’s body at a house in Rotherham.
Police were called in at around 10.05pm last night, following reports of an incident, and the 44-year-old man’s body was found.
Paramedics also raced to the scene on Greenfield Road, Herringthorpe, but were unable to revive the casualty.
A 39-year-old man and 45-year-old woman have been arrested by police on suspicion of murder.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Detectives have started a murder investigation after a 44-year-old local man died at an address in Herringthorpe, Rotherham.
“Police received reports just after 10.05pm yesterday, of an incident at the property on Greenfield Road. Paramedics attended but the 44-year-old died at the scene.
“Greenfield Road remains closed this morning while inquiries continue at the scene. The road is expected to remain closed until later today.”
