A MURDER investigation has been launched after a South Yorkshire man was stabbed to death in his own home.

Police said 40-year-old James King, known locally as Jock, was found at 6.30am on Saturday.

Officers yesterday sealed off his semi-detached home in Tadcaster Close, Denaby, Doncaster, with officers standing guard outside to preserve the crime scene.

The street was also cordoned off with police taped at both ends while officers carried out door-to-door enquiries looking for residents to shed some light on the circumstances surrounding the death.

Police said Mr King had been stabbed and a 36-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Residents said there were regular callers to his home at all times of the day and night.

One man, who did not wish to be named, said: “We had reported him to the police and council but nothing was done. There were always people coming and going at all times. I am shocked he has been killed but not surprised.”
