A group of men have been charged with violent disorder, following an incident at a Mexborough pub where the men are alleged to have attacked members of the public using weapons found on the premises.
A total of five men have been charged in connection with the incident so far, which occurred in the Montagu Arms pub, located in Mexborough High Street, in February this year.
The men are due to appear in Doncaster Magistrates’ Court in connection with the offence next month.
Police inspector Richard Collingwood said: “Five men have been charged with violent disorder, following actions taken in the Montagu Arms earlier this month.
“The men are believed to have used the weapons in what was a nasty, violent incident.”
