Police are hunting a man who attempted to hold up a post office with a knife.
He struck at Holme Hall post office on Wardgate Way, Chesterfield, just before 9am on Wednesday.
The raided made demands for cash but post office staff refused to comply and he left empty-handed.
Polcei said he was last seen running off past Lloyd’s Pharmacy and onto Loundsley Green Road.
A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: “Just before 9am a man went into the post office on Wardgate Way in Chesterfield armed with a knife and demanded money.
“When staff refused his demand he ran off past Lloyds Pharmacy, the family centre and church and down a footpath in the direction of the school.
“He’s then believed to have gone onto Loundsley Green Road.
“The suspect is described as being white, of chunky build, wearing a red top and dark bottoms.”
Witnesses or anyone who saw a man matching the description in the area that day should call Derbyshire Police on 101 and ask for DC Russ Garner.
