Man robbed at knifepoint

A MAN was held up at knifepoint by two robbers who ambushed him as he walked along a Sheffield street.

The 41-year-old was on Bamforth Street, Hillsborough, when two thugs approached. One produced a knife and demanded his valuables.

The victim told police the other then searched his pockets and stole his wallet, which contained cash. The two robbers then swaggered off towards Langsett Road.

One was Afro-Caribbean, in his early to mid 20s, 6ft, stocky and wearing a black jacket and dark jeans. The other was mixed race or Afro-Caribbean, in his late teens or early 20s, 6ft 2ins and wearing a black padded coat, dark jeans and light trainers.

Witnesses to the robbery at 5.30pm last Tuesday should call South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020 quoting incident number 830 of February 22.
