A Barnsley man has been jailed for 34 months for targeting vulnerable young girls on Facebook and offering them cash for sex.
Andrew Dawson, aged 28, of Garden House Close, Monk Bretton, pleading guilty at Sheffield Crown Court to four counts of inciting child prostitution.
He used various aliases to contact vulnerable young girls and offered them money to try to entice them to engage in sexual activity with him.
Dawson was reported by the parents of one victim and another young girl’s learning mentor.
Detective Inspector John Fitzgibbons said: “This man preyed on young girls on social networking sites, befriending them and trying to entice them into sexual activity with him.
“Thankfully, none met up with him.”
