A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked in Chesterfield.
At 7.45pm on Wednesday, officers were called to Sheffield Road to reports that a man had been assaulted.
On arrival police found a man with a head injury.
The man was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital and later transfered to Sheffield Royal Hallamshire Hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Four men and three women have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and are currently in police custody.
