A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his parents.

Kamil Dantes, aged 28, is accused of killing his mother and father – Malgorzata Dantes and Leszek Dantes, both aged 54 – last week.

Their bodies were discovered in the family home on Hardwick Road East, Worksop, at around 7am on Monday, April 21.

Police officers made the grim discovery after being called to the property.

Post mortem examinations revealed they had both been stabbed to death.

Kamil Dantes appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, where his case was transferred to Nottingham Crown Court.

Police sealed off the family home following the discovery of the bodies while forensic exerts examined the crime scene to try to find out what had happened.

Officers also carried out house-to-house inquiries to establish whether any neighbours heard or saw anything suspicious.

Extra police patrols were also stepped up because of safety concerns in the community.
