Man hurt in Sheffield city centre assault

A man needed hospital treatment after being assaulted in Sheffield city centre.

Police were called to Rockingham Gate, off The Moor, just before 3am today.

A police spokeswoman said: “A 21-year-old man is believed to have been assaulted in an incident involving a group of men.

“He was taken to hospital with his injuries and was discharged later in the morning.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101,quoting incident number 67 of Thursday, March 20.
