A 27-year-old man has been charged over an armed robbery which involved three men threatening a jeweller’s staff with sledgehammers.

Three men entered HL Brown Jewellers in Barkers Pool, Sheffield, on September 14 armed with sledgehammers and threatened staff, before escaping with a number of valuable watches.

James May, of Bromley, London, has been charged with robbery and is due to appear in Sheffield Magistrates Court today.
