Man due in court over attack on pensioner in Sheffield park

A MAN is due at court today charged with the attempted murder of a city pensioner left fighting for life after an attack in a city park.

Imran Khan, aged 30, of Handsworth Road, Darnall, has also been charged with robbery over the incident in High Hazels Park on Monday.

He is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

Police arrested him following an attack on a 79-year-old man who had gone to the park to look for an elderly relative.

Police believe the pensioner was attacked for the keys to his luxury Bentley Continental.

He was found unconscious close to Olivers Mount at around 9.10pm.
