A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after two people were stabbed in Sheffield.

Nigel Driver, aged 44, of Middlewood Road, Hillsborough appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court charged with attempted murder, assault causing grievous bodily harm and possession of cannabis.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Friday, October 16.

Driver has been charged after police were called to a property in Porter Brook View, in Sharrow, on the evening on Thursday, October 1.

Officers discovered a 46-year-old man with serious knife wounds to his neck.

He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A 46-year-old woman also received stab wounds, which were not serious.
