Jewellery of sentimental value stolen during burglary in Barnsley

Jewellery of sentimental value to its owner was stolen from a house in Barnsley during a break-in.

A burglar got into the property on Aldham Crescent, Wombwell, after damaging the rear patio door.

Officers were alerted to the raid at 6.35pm on Friday, June 26.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “It is believed that while the occupants were at work, persons unknown broke into the house, damaging the rear patio door.

“A number of items were taken during the burglary, including some jewellery that is of sentimental value to the victim.

“If you can help, or hold any information about the burglary, please call.”
