Jail for attempted carjacker

''Guy Maxfield, 23, jumped in front of the car forcing the woman to stop as she drove down Ringwood Road, Brimington at around 10.30pm on July 26, 2011. ''He banged on the car bonnet and told the woman to get out. The woman locked the door and rang police from her mobile phone and Maxfield walked away. ''He was arrested after his fingerprint was found on the car. ''On the same night he also burgled a house on King Street, Brimington stealing the owner's purse and smashed the window of a car parked on Lilac Street, Hollingwood. ''Maxfield, of Albert Road, Chesterfield, was charged with attempted robbery, burglary and attempted theft. ''He pleaded guilty to the charges and was jailed for three years at a hearing at Derby Crown Court on Friday, January 13.

a MAN who attempted to hijack a woman’s car as she drove through Chesterfield has been jailed for three years.

Guy Maxfield jumped in front of the car, forcing the woman to stop, as she drove along Ringwood Road, Brimington, on Tuesday, July 26, last year, at about 10.30pm.

Maxfield banged on the car bonnet and told the woman to get out.

However, the 23-year-old walked away from the scene when the motorist locked the doors and called police from her mobile phone.

Maxfield was arrested after his fingerprint was found on the car.

On the same night he also burgled a house on King Street, Brimington, stealing the owner’s purse.

He also smashed the window of a car parked on Lilac Street, Hollingwood.

Maxfield, of Albert Road, Chesterfield, was charged with attempted robbery, burglary and attempted theft.

He admitted all three charges and was jailed for three years at a hearing at Derby Crown Court.
