Police are appealing for information about arson attacks in parks in Hasland and Chesterfield.
The incidents happened sometime overnight between Monday, September 1 and Tuesday, September 2.
Park rangers reported that a wooden picnic table, near to the water fountain in Eastwood Park, Hasland, and the side screens on the cricket pitch in Queen’s Park, Chesterfield, been damaged by fire.
PCSO Zoe Blount, of the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team in the area, is investigating.
She said: “Fire can easily get out of hand, and by setting fire to anything you are potentially putting yourself and others at risk of harm.
“It is also costly to replace and repair equipment and is unpleasant for other people wanting to enjoy the facilities.
