the police helicopter was deployed on Christmas Day to look for intruders stealing metal from industrial premises on Claywheels Lane, Hillsborough, Sheffield at 4.20am.
It was also called out to help look for thieves stealing from charity bins outside Waitrose supermarket on Ecclesall Road in the city.
A dog handler located two suspects as they made their way into the city centre.
The helicopter was also called out to help look for an elderly man from Heeley, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and was reported missing from home.
Airborne staff were also called out to assist armed police who were looking for a man from the Arbourthorne estate, who was found hiding in a loft at Manor Top.
He was taken into police custody and quizzed by officers.
