A house was shot at on a Sheffield street, and a man was found with a gun in a separate incident elsewhere in the city, police have revealed.
Armed police were called to the first incident on Woolley Wood Road, Shiregreen, at 12.10am yesterday to find a house had been shot at.
They discovered that a window had been damaged in the gun attack, but that nobody was injured.
The incident is being treated as a ‘targeted attack’.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “It was reported that shots had been discharged from a firearm at a house causing damage to one of the windows.
No-one was injured.
“Police are investigating the incident and believe this may have been a targeted attack.”
At 2.15am police were called out to Cannock Street, Hillsborough, to reports that a man had a gun in a house.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene for possession of an offensive weapon and was held in custody yesterday.
Again, nobody was injured during the incident.
Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
