A CHANGING room and two toilets have been destroyed in separate blazes at a junior football club in Sheffield.
The first fire at the Sheffield United Junior Blades ground on Matthews Lane, Norton, Sheffield, involved two portable toilets and a goal post but firefighters called out to deal with the incident were unable to determine how exactly it started.
The following night - Tuesday - a cabin used as a changing room also went up in flames but on that occasion firefighters logged it as an arson attack and police are investigating.
The club, which caters for boys and girls, must now raise money to replace the damaged cabin and toilets.
Chairman Neil Stancill said the fires were a ‘kick in the teeth’.
He said: “First of all two toilets were destroyed then a new set of aluminium nets - both donated to the club.
“The next night the changing rooms were destroyed, and they too had been donated.
“We are not in this to make profit but to provide a football club for kids, so for this to happen is a kick ion the teeth for everyone involved.
