FARMERS will be offered crime prevention and security advice at agricultural markets across the region in a crackdown on rural crime.
Derbyshire Police, the National Farmers Union and Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce are involved in the initiative.
The events will take place during the farmers’ markets at Derbyshire Dales District Council’s Agricultural Business Centre, Bakewell, on Mondays, January 16, 23 and 30.
Community Safety Sergeant, Jon Lloyd, said: “We would encourage as many people as possible to come along and learn more about how they can protect their business and property.
“The event aims to show farmers how to reduce the opportunity for rural crime.”
