Relatives of fire death tot Libby-Jayne Hornsby are warning people against giving donations to door-to-door collectors claiming to be acting on behalf of the family.
The family thanked members of the public for their support following the two-year-old’s funeral service at St Peter’s Church in Conisbrough on Friday.
But they also asked people to be wary of door-to-door visitors asking for donations.
In a statement, the family said: “We would like to thank the local community for their overwhelming support, flowers and cards at the funeral.
“However, we have been made aware that there are people visiting homes in the local area claiming to be collecting money on behalf of our family.
“In light of this we would like to warn people against giving donations. All fundraising by the family has now been completed and we are extremely grateful to everyone who made donations.”
Libby-Jayne died after a fire at her home in Don Street, Conisbrough, on Thursday, October 17.
